Our methodology to guide your ERP choice

    Context and needs assessment

    • We start by identifying why you want to change or implement an ERP: is it due to growth, inefficiencies, messy data? How would you like processes to evolve?
    • We define the scope of the project with you: which departments will be covered (finance, HR, procurement, logistics, sales, etc.)?
    • We set up a project steering committee, involving key stakeholders early on.
    • Through individual workshops with each department, we uncover pain points, manual bottlenecks, and reporting needs — using tailored questionnaires to capture what really matters.

    ERP matching & shortlisting

    • We guide you through a structured evaluation of functional requirements (Altesia’s checklist includes 80+ finance features, and many more for other domains).
    • We help you prioritise: must-haves vs. nice-to-haves — no overkill.
    • Based on our independent database of 35+ ERP tools, we create a shortlist (max 5) and assess strengths, weaknesses, and fit.
    • We reduce the list to 2–3 ERP solutions that best match your needs. Altesia is 100% agnostic: we have no commercial ties to any ERP or vendor.

    Integrator selection & contracting

    • Once the ERP shortlist (2–3 solutions) is defined, we enter the procurement phase: we identify suitable integrators based on your shortlisted ERPs. Some integrators cover multiple tools; others are specialists.
    • We draft a detailed RFP (15–20 pages) that includes your functional requirements and the shortlisted ERP systems.
    • We manage the Q&A phase, benchmark the proposals, and help you evaluate both technical fit and budget realism.
    • A final shortlist of 2–3 integrators is established and challenged through an RFQ and Best and Final Offer (BAFO)
    • Our goal: help you avoid default choices, uncover hidden costs, and secure the best-fit ERP + Integrator combination — aligned with your priorities.

What we don’t do

At Altesia, we don’t believe there’s no such thing as a “perfect ERP”, but only various options that are more or less adapted to your organisation and specific needs.

 

Here’s what we don’t do:

❌ We avoid inflating your budget with endless “must have” criteria. We rather challenge them, so you can balance impact with budget.
